Which Activity to Choose in Lanzarote: Buggy, Jet Ski or Catamaran?

Buggy, jet ski or catamaran? I sell all three, so I’m not going to tell you “everything’s amazing”. Here’s how I’d choose for your profile, with the real numbers.

The three activities at a glance

Buggy: 2 or 3 hours, north of the island, volcanoes and tracks. From €150 per buggy.
Jet ski: 20 minutes to 2 hours along the coast. €70 to €250 per jet ski, two-seater.
Catamaran: about 4 hours to Papagayo, €79 per adult, light meal and drinks included.

Cost per person

For 2 people: 2-seat buggy for 2 hours = €75 each; jet ski 40 minutes with both on one machine = €60 each; catamaran = €79 each.
For 4 people: 4-seat buggy for 2 hours = €50 each; jet ski 40 minutes on two machines = €60 each; catamaran = €79 each.

The buggy becomes the cheapest option per head as soon as the vehicle is full. The catamaran is the only one where everything is included (food, drinks, gear).

My pick for your profile

Couple wanting fun: the buggy, or the jet ski together.
Couple wanting calm: the catamaran.
Family with kids: the catamaran or a 4 or 6-seat buggy. Ages are detailed in the guide to activities with kids.
Group of friends: buggy, one vehicle per small group.
You want adrenaline: the jet ski, but remember speed is capped at 50 km/h.
Short on time: jet ski, 20 or 40 minutes.
A big day out: the catamaran.

The limits of each, no filter

Buggy: no Timanfaya, a guide who leads the convoy rather than commenting, and a bit of a production-line feel in peak season. It’s all in my take on the buggy.
