Lanzarote markets in 2026: days, opening times and complete guide

• Don’t get your hopes up about the Costa Teguise “night market”: we get asked about it all the time! On paper, an evening market sounds great. In reality, the Costa Teguise one (Wednesday and Friday evenings) is just 4 or 5 small stalls selling jewellery and necklaces… Nothing special. If you’re already staying in Costa Teguise and eating at the Pueblo Marinero, it’s nice to have a look as you pass. But definitely don’t drive 45 minutes from Playa Blanca just for that – you’ll be very disappointed!
• Watch where the crafts come from: at the bigger markets (especially Teguise), lots of stalls sell so-called “souvenirs” (jewellery, leather goods, trinkets) that are imported or mass-produced, exactly like in resort shops. If you’re after genuine 100% handmade items by local artisans, head to Haría market or look for the official “Artesanía de Lanzarote” label.
• What parking in Teguise is REALLY like: don’t panic when you reach the edge of the village on a Sunday! You’ll see lots of locals waving you into their private plots. It’s usually just €2: really cheap, super convenient, and it supports local people. That said, if you keep going a bit further towards the town centre near the market, you’ll always end up finding a completely free spot on the street. Your choice: €2 convenience or a few minutes of searching!
• Prices at farmers’ markets: don’t expect your fruit and veg to be cheaper than at the local supermarket. With volcanic soil and scarce water, farming on Lanzarote takes a huge amount of work. You don’t come here to save a few cents, but for the exceptional quality of the produce: goat’s cheese, tomatoes that actually taste of something, honey and La Geria wines are far better – and you’re directly supporting the island’s farmers.
