What to Wear and Bring on a Buggy Tour in Lanzarote

Wind, dust, sun, and sometimes a bit of a chill up in the hills. Here’s what to wear and a checklist so you can enjoy your buggy tour while staying comfortable and safe.

What we provide

Ski-mask-style protective goggles

We lend you wraparound goggles that keep the dust out well. They fit over prescription glasses.

What's worth bringing

Comfortable dust protection

Optional, but some people like it: a scarf, a neck gaiter or a face mask. At the agency, branded neck gaiters are on sale for €5 each.

Upper body: layer up

The buggies have no windscreen, so your upper body is exposed to the wind.
In summer, a T-shirt is enough for most tours. The rest of the year, pop a light jumper or a thin fleece into a small backpack. The bag fits easily at the passenger’s feet.

Lower body: shorts are fine

Your legs are well protected inside the buggy, so driving in shorts isn’t a problem. Just remember the sunscreen.

Shoes: closed shoes are compulsory for the driver

To keep full control of the pedals, closed shoes are compulsory for the driver. You can be fined for driving in flip-flops or sliders if the police consider they compromise control of the vehicle. Recommended for passengers too.

Protection and comfort

  • Sunscreen and lip balm.
  • A bottle of water per person.
  • A charged phone for photos and WhatsApp.

Documents you mustn't forget

Driving licence

A full car driving licence held for at least 2 years for the driver. Failing that, a clear photo where the licence number is easy to read. It’s required for the insurance.

Booking and contact

Have your booking summary handy and WhatsApp switched on for any coordination on the day.

What's useless or best avoided

Big bags and fragile camera gear aren’t very practical because of the dust and vibrations. Go for light and sturdy.

Quick checklist

  • Protective goggles provided on site.
  • Scarf or neck gaiter optional (on sale at the agency for €5).
  • A light warm layer depending on the season + a windbreaker lent if needed.
  • Shorts are fine, sunscreen recommended.
  • Closed shoes for the driver.
  • Driving licence held for 2+ years, or a clear photo of it.
  • Water, a charged phone, a small backpack at the passenger’s feet.
