How to Choose Your Buggy in Lanzarote: 2h or 3h, 2, 4 or 6 Seats
The question I get all the time: 2 hours or 3? A 2, 4 or 6-seater? Here’s how I’d choose, with the numbers, without pushing you towards the most expensive option.
2 hours or 3?
- 2 hours: the right format to discover the area. You see the essentials of the north: tracks, volcanoes, cochineal terraces.
- 3 hours: you go further, with a panoramic stop above the Famara cliffs (roughly 360° views) and a return along wilder tracks.
Durations are indicative: allow 10 to 20 minutes either way depending on the group’s pace. If you’re short on time or travelling with kids, 2 hours is plenty. If you like driving and taking your time, 3 hours is worth the extra.
2, 4 or 6 seats?
The price is per buggy, not per person. That changes the maths completely.
- 2 seats: €150 (2 h) or €200 (3 h). The passenger must be at least 1.35 m tall.
- 4 seats: €200 (2 h) or €270 (3 h). Back seats are open from age 2, with child seats provided.
- 6 seats: €270 (2 h) or €340 (3 h). Same rule for children.
The cost per person, buggy full
- 2 seats, 2 h: €75 per person. For 3 h: €100.
- 4 seats, 2 h: €50 per person. For 3 h: about €68.
- 6 seats, 2 h: €45 per person. For 3 h: about €57.
Honest conclusion: the fuller the buggy, the less each person pays. If there are 4 of you, one 4-seater is often smarter than two 2-seaters.
What I’d suggest for your profile
- Couple: 2 seats, 2 hours to try it, 3 hours if you want the full experience.
- Family with kids: 4 or 6 seats depending on numbers, usually 2 hours.
- Group of friends: one buggy per couple or small group, and you swap drivers on the same outing.
Before you book
The driver needs a licence held for at least 2 years, and closed shoes are mandatory. Insurance, jacket and goggles are included. The activity isn’t recommended with serious back problems or during pregnancy.
