Beaches to discover:

Maspalomas beach

Famous for its vast dunes that look like a desert landscape, Playa de Maspalomas stretches for more than 6 kilometres and is divided into different areas: family zones, naturist areas and quieter stretches for anyone wanting to get away from it all. It’s a perfect setting for everyone, whether for a sunset stroll or a sunny day by the sea.

(under 30 min by car): dolphin watching, scuba diving, 1970s buggy tour.

Playa de Amadores

is known for its white sand and crystal-clear water, and although it’s close to the hustle and bustle of Puerto Rico, it’s still a favourite for its beauty. It can get quite busy, especially in high season, but it’s ideal if you want a day at the beach with every convenience close at hand.

Playa de Las Canteras

buzzes with cosmopolitan energy. This 3-kilometre beach, with its lively promenade full of restaurants, cafés and shops, is perfect if you want to combine beach time with the urban vibe of a very cosmopolitan and appealing city.

Anfi del Mar beach

This man-made beach, famous for its white sand, is a paradise for families. Anfi del Mar has calm, clear water, ideal for swimming and water sports. Getting there is fairly easy, though it does involve a five-to-ten-minute walk, which is a bit tougher on the way back. The facilities are excellent, with sunshades and loungers to rent.

Playa del Risco

If you’re after a wilder, more secluded escape, Playa del Risco is a stunning choice. You reach it after a walk down that’s all part of the adventure, and it rewards you with spectacular scenery and an almost unmatched sense of calm – perfect for a relaxing day far from the crowds.

is a charming beach with a relaxed, friendly vibe. My friend Johanna runs a beach bar there and gives every visitor a warm welcome. It’s the ideal spot to unwind with a cold drink and enjoy the gorgeous sea view.
