Like many of us, you’ve probably dreamed of owning a little bolthole in the slice of paradise that is Lanzarote… Some people have made it happen – and when they’re not there, they’re happy to share it with people like you who are looking for somewhere to stay on holiday.

Forget the big online rental platforms and hosts you can barely communicate with. As one of Crazy Canary’s favourite sayings goes: “You’re not on an e-commerce site – you’re at the start of a great encounter.”

A well-kept secret on Lanzarote

Tonight I’m sharing one of my favourite finds… For nature lovers like us, there’s a unique place – nothing to do with the “Secrets Lanzarote Resort” hotel – that’s a real hidden paradise: Secret Garden Lanzarote.

Here you sleep in eco-cabins and creative little houses, surrounded by greenery and calm. The garden is full of local plants, and you can even shower under the stars…

It’s the perfect place to switch off, enjoy nature and discover a different side of Lanzarote, far from mass tourism.

Curious? Take a look: https://secretgardenlanzarote.com/

Villa Canis: a peaceful haven for an exclusive stay on Lanzarote

If you’re looking for somewhere that’s both comfortable and authentic, Villa Canis is a gem tucked away in the hills above Tías, with breathtaking panoramic views over the ocean and the island’s volcanoes. This true haven of peace, designed for those who appreciate exclusivity, combines luxury and serenity.

At 240 m², the villa sleeps up to eight people in elegant surroundings. It has four bedrooms, including a master suite, three bathrooms and a large, light-filled living area. The outdoor space is made for lazing around, with a heated pool, a built-in hot tub and even a second, separate hot tub for six. Ideally located between Puerto del Carmen and Puerto Calero, it strikes the perfect balance between peace and quiet and easy access to local amenities – all less than 10 minutes from the airport.

What also sets Villa Canis apart is its selective approach: it’s rented by the week only (7 nights minimum), for a maximum of 8 guests. The owner doesn’t want it to be just another holiday let, but a special place where quality comes before quantity. He’s also keen to point out that the villa holds an official VV holiday-rental licence and that all the paperwork is in order, with guest registrations made to the Guardia Civil through a concierge.

In short, if you’re after a high-end experience, away from the crowds but close to everything, Villa Canis is one to remember.

Patricia’s apartment:

I met Patricia and her husband when I was still a buggy tour guide on Lanzarote, while getting Crazy Canary off the ground. We hit it off straight away. Although she’s travelled all over the world, she told me she completely fell for Lanzarote and didn’t need much persuading to buy her very well-located apartment in Puerto del Carmen, which she makes available to you when she’s not there. Here’s her description:

El Sueño Ocean Lanzamar.

We rent out an apartment in Puerto del Carmen with sea views from the terrace. It’s in a complex with a pool, sun loungers and a playground. It has one bedroom and a living room, and sleeps a family with 2 children or 3 adults.
